About
The Lindis Pass is 1 of 9 passes in the Southern Alps of New Zealand, it connects the east coast to the Central Otago Lakes district. It's a stunning alpine area with tall, tussock-covered mountains and seasonal blooms of lupins and large native buttercups. It's a particularly hazardous pass in the winter months with frequent snow and ice cover, the scenery is particularly enchanting after snowfalls.Artists’s word
What these paintings mean to me, why I do them.. I'm naturally drawn to the Lindis Pass through my love of rural landscapes, farming, and early Otago history. Every drive through the pass feels like a unique experience, the lighting, flora and fauna are always surprising me. The dry rolling hills in summer and the dustings of snow in the cooler months are always a spectacular sight. The Lindis Valley is scattered with early heritage hotels, farm buildings and traces of gold mining history. I explore these themes and try to capture the timeless essence of this in my collection.Exhibitions
